I love this bike. If it got stolen, I would buy this one or jump up to the Trek 7.4...But this one is fine. I have a bad back, but I am very active. I paid about $75. to have the handles raised about 1 inch. I also added a more comfortable seat. A great ride for around town. I will even do my shopping with it. Put my bags on the handlebars. I keep the bike in the garage and would never leave it out over night somewhere...Even with a great lock. I would even do the bike/bus/bike to work thing. Ride the bike to the bus station (1.5 miles)...Put the bike on the bus...Get off and ride 1.5 miles to the work site. Then home again home again giggity gig...

    Comments:

I love this bike. I ride for fitness and fun and this bike is great for both. It would also make a great commuter bike as well. The only drawback I have, for myself at least, is the seat seems to have been made by Satan himself. Seat comfort is something that I would say is a bit subjective but, I had to replace this seat.

      Comments:

I just finished my first sprint triathlon on this bike. I am a 58 year old female (I bought the 20-inch men's bike for proper fit, 5"11"). I was more than happy with the bike leg of my tri -- I averaged 16 mph on a hilly course, in the rain -- better than I expected. Despite the fact that many would tell you a road bike is required for a tri, there weren't many bikers passing me and I passed a number of road bikes. This is one fantastic, and fun ride! The only complaint I have is the saddle. I first swapped out the men's saddle for a female Bontrager saddle, but ultimately swapped it for a Selle Italia Lady Gel saddle.

This is my daily rider for road riding. The seat is a little hard, but you get used to it. The geometry is great for me as a large framed person. Can't beat the price either.

      Comments:

Feels and looks sleek, rides fast, and the durability is pretty great. Rode it well for 1300 miles before its first tune-up, though it did need to have it's brake pads, pedals, and chain replaced. The seat isn't the best, but the handlebar's are great for long rides and it'll take you up to 25 mph on a flat road. No suspension, so you'll feel every little bump, but you also get a good feel for the road below you, great visceral feedback. All in all, great bike.

I have always purchased from discount stores usually under $200. Had to give up running due surgery so biking was the way to exercise outdoors again. Thanks to the experts at the bike shop, was able to find a great fitness hybrid bike that fits me and my needs perfectly. The 7.3 is comfortable, easy to handle, and fast. Never had clicker gear shift but am very impressed with ease of shifting. Haven't done serious hills yet but imagine it will work well.
