Be ready for any terrain. Tough climbs, rowdy descents, all-day epics. This is a trail bike that thrives in all conditions. Stay in control, even when the trail gets rough. The all-new Trance puts you on a lightweight yet stiff ALUXX SL aluminum frame with an updated Maestro Suspension system. Its newly designed trunnion shock mount and an Advanced Forged composite upper rocker arm make the whole system lighter and stronger. It features 140mm of smooth and active rear suspension travel and 150mm in front, all optimized for the superior trail performance of 27.5-inch wheels with clearance for 2.6 tires. The new Trance also features wider Boost hub spacing (110 front/148 rear) for stiffer wheels to give you more control on rugged terrain. Boost also increases tire clearance and improves the chainline for optimal drivetrain performance. So whether you’re bombing a physical descent or muscling through technical terrain, the new Trance helps you tame the trail.

Comments:

Use for Technical, all mountain and trail riding. Solid, sturdy bike. No issues and have ridden it hard. Suspension is outstanding, and am still playing with it to dial in the ride. Have done drop offs to steep rocky climbs. Outstanding bike. Wish it were slightly lighter. Tires are awful in wet weather, but are fast and hold on anything dry.

Comments:

I purchased the bike from Chris at the OFfRAMP. I had a Cannondale pretty high end bike. My search lead me to look at various bikes and testing some high end bikes. The Giant Trance was perfect. In a month I have over 400 miles of single track trails - have been to the top of Mission Peak and rode trails San Mateo. The bike is solid on climbs and down hill runs. The only issues were the chain rings in the front - which were replaced by the OFFRAMP at no cost. ALL in all this bike is a lot of fun for the price and performance. The Service from the OFFRAMP is first class. Go Team Giant!

Comments:

I ride all over the place, 1-2 hrs per night....Long halls along road ways, then jump off on to trails and complete my ride. This bike is great if you enjoy running along at about 80%, any more than that and she pushes back. Road and light trail work it's un stopable, but throw some roots and a few rocks in front of it and it shows you it's flaws. The front fork is just not what I would call quality....don't get me wrong it works....but if you ride in the high 80% to 100% pace it just doesn't cut it. Can't handle big roots logs and down hill.....just take the short cut to avoid them all together. The crank is awsume for long hauls up hill and tight quick pumping. Rear shock is great...handles everything I have thrown at it and hasn't complained yet. Rebound adjustment is excellent and once you get the pressure right for your style, you won't have any issues. Brakes are very good for being cable opperated, with lot's of feel. You can stand it on it's nose going down hill, with one finger....just watch the fork! Bars, seat, derailers all work very well. I had some issues with the derailers but simple adjustment by the store where it was purchased solved everything.

    Comments:

Being a Trek owner for the past few years this bike leads the pack by a long way. i was told the first ride off road i would see a huge difference in the two brands. and i can say that is 100% a true fact i took it out on its first ride 3 hrs. and put it to the test. took it on creek crossings, deer trails with roots and small logs in the way took it in the red mud of Georgia second to none took it over rocks and up and down steep banks, even got to ride in a little snow gears worked as well in the mud as if riding on the road. brakes worked just as good. so on a scale of 1 to 10 this bike rates a full ten price is high but well worth the money. i look foward to many hours of hard riding.
