    Comments:

I just got back into cycling after more than a decade away foolishly being married, commuting from suburbs and forgetting how fantastic two wheels and your own will to go fast could be. I started riding again on my old Schwinn Aluminum 354. It was a great bike for its time...20 years ago. I wanted to upgrade and started to research which led me to the Specialized Allez Comp Elite. I was SURE that was what I wanted. However, my LBS was out of them and was led to the Secteur Sport Compact. I did not like the term "relaxed geometry". No sir, did not like it at all. It sounded like something an old man needed. It sounded slow. However, it was highly recommended by my new LBS friends and it was on sale. So, what the hey, I bought it. I was excited to try it out but afraid I had been snookered and had dropped a grand on something not so different from what I already had. BOY WAS I WRONG! This bike was ready to go and just needed a little prodding to take off. It is very stable and turns are tight and bright. The shifting has been crisp and easy. Twenty miles on my old bike were a burden. I can do forty on this bike before I feel the same stress. My back feels better, I can go faster and I feel confident in rain, on uneven roads and in traffic situations. I will eventually move up to carbon, but I am very happy with this bike.

I'm a runner that got into biking and got a great deal on this bike. Talk about a smooth ride that really absorbs the road. This truly makes the rides enjoyable. Responsive on the hills and you can really pick up speed on the downs. I average 30-35 miles each ride and enjoy every bit of it. A huge value for sure.

      Comments:

This is definitely a good bike for one who is starting off and I am happy with the price tag. In general, I never faced any problems even in long races such as the MS 150. It shifts quite well and has quite a comfortable ride. I would recommend this bike over other bikes in this price range and definitively over the Trek 1.3. I just feel that this bike comes with more/better components than my Trek. The only problem I found was the weak braking system. It takes longer than usual to come to a complete stop.

Had some noise from the head set.. adjustments helped. Was doing fine for over 900 miles this year until the chain jammed the front derailleur causing it to scrape up the inside of the crank arm. Should be more clearance.

I ride a 20/30 miles on the weekend and try to get one or two 10/15 miles during the week. I love the way this bike feels. I am 5'10" & 205 and this bike is lite yet strong feeling. The shifters are quick and smooth. I am so glad i went with the '11 Specialized Secteur Sport Compact. I also love the look, nice style with the red and black. Great job by the people at Caster's of Warwick. Thanks

The specialized Sectuer Sport is an excellent overall road bike for the money. Because it response will at high speeds. The components are very good quality at this price range. I had the bike up to 31.3 miles per hour and it handles well as far as braking, cornering and going fast down a steep hill. Due to the fact that it is back and hamstring friendly, because the bike does not make you stretch your back as much as other road bikes do. I highly recommend this bike if you want to ride long distance because it gives you a comfortable ride.
